Hello, my name is Amy and I am a qualified BACP and BPC registered counsellor, offering open-ended or short-term therapy.
You might be feeling anxious, low, angry, or be struggling with relationships. Perhaps you don't really know what is going wrong, but are simply finding life overwhelming. There may be events or residual feelings from the past that feel hard to reconcile or think about, or cycles that you feel trapped in.
Coming to counselling for the first time can feel daunting, but you will be listened to without judgement and in a safe space.
My training is Psychodynamic and looks at ways in which your past may inform your present. I will think with you about whatever you wish to bring to the sessions, and help you to make sense of things. We can work to a pace and depth that feels comfortable to you. Honesty, impartiality and respect underpin my work.
I keep my practise current and alive by attending both a reading group and training events with organisations such as the Tavistock Clinic, the Severnside Institute, the West Midlands Institute for Psychotherapy, and Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I also attend regular supervision in order to ensure the quality of my work is upheld.
I follow the BACP an BPC Codes of Ethics, which can be found here:

BACP - Registered member, British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapists
BPC - Registered member, British Psychoanalytical Council
4 year Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy)
BA English Literature (Hons)
Aside from private practice, I also work as a counsellor and assessor for the Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Service in Bristol
Previous counselling posts: Cotswold Counselling and Westonbirt School
We’ll start with a brief phone conversation for you to tell me what brings you to counselling. It is likely we’ll then arrange an initial session to think about what has gone on for you, what you might expect from counselling and whether we think we will be a good fit.
50-minute sessions then continue weekly, at the same time and on the same day.
I offer sessions face-to-face and on Zoom.
I counsel from a comfortable and peaceful cabin designed as a private, therapeutic space with a natural feel. It has level access, with WC. There is off-street parking.
I am 15 minutes from the M4 and within easy reach of Tetbury, Malmesbury, Chippenham, Nailsworth, Cirencester and surrounding villages. Bath, Bristol and Swindon are all just over half an hour's drive away.
£45 per session (this includes the initial session), payable by cash / BACS.
